CAP’s Take a Ride Fundraising Bicycle Ride
Saturday, May 11, 2024!

Join us at Central Waters Brewing Company for loops of 10, 30, and 50 mile rides. Rides will go through small rural communities and will follow county highways as well as rural roads near lakes, streams, forests and farm fields.

Paid registrants will receive water/snack comfort stops, Central Waters Brewing Company beverage chip, and a Take a Ride t-shirt.

Check-in is available from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. Recommended start times for the routes are as follows:
50-mile loop start at 9 a.m.
30-mile loop start at 10 a.m.
10-mile loop start at 11 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to plan their rides for return to Central Waters by 12:30 p.m. in order to access all available comfort stations and sag support. But take as long as you need, this is NOT a race! Riders may adjust their start times and rest times accordingly, but starting together and finishing together adds a more festive feel to the ride. Food will be available for purchase at the end of the ride.

Early registration of $35 is available through April 21. On April 22, the registration fee increases to $50.
Children 12 or younger are free.

For questions or to register by cash or check, please contact Scott at 715-318-8896 or snorder@capmail.org.

  • 50-mile loop start will be 9 a.m.
  • 30-mile loop start will be 10 a.m.

All routes begin and end at Central Waters Brewery.

Note: Planned routes are subject to change based on road conditions.

Our comfort stops will highlight some local treasures along the bike routes. Riders will have the opportunity to rest and enjoy refreshments at the following locations:

Ruby Coffee Roasters will serve all three routes and will be staffed from 10am – 12:30pm. This stop is at mile 5 of the Red (10-mile) loop, miles 5 and 25 of the Blue (30-mile) loop, and mile 44 of the Green (50-mile) loop.

Sunset Lake Park will serve the Blue and Green Loops and will be staffed from 10:30am – 12:30pm. This stop is at mile 17 of the Blue (30-mile) loop and mile 36 of the Green (50-mile loop).

ScandiHus, LLC will serve the Green Loop and will be staffed from 9:30am – 11:00am. This stop is at mile 18 of the 50-mile loop.

Note: CAP Services will provide water, sports drinks and snacks at each comfort stop. Riders wishing to enjoy the products available at ScandiHus or Ruby Coffee are responsible for their own purchases.

We know this ride is early in the season and many may not have bikers’ legs just yet! When you register, please select the route you think you will most likely ride on May 13. If you change your mind, you can contact Scott Norder at 715-318-8896 or snorder@capmail.org, or let one of our check-in volunteers know when you arrive at the event.

The T-shirts are unisex adult sizing, which means women will generally need one size smaller than they would normally. Youth sizing is not available.

Riders must provide their own bike and helmet. Riders are responsible for ensuring their bikes are maintained and road-worthy prior to the event. Skates/skateboards and pets are not allowed at the event. Registered riders will receive water and snacks at comfort stations along the routes and a drink chip for Central Waters Brewery (good for one soda or beer). Participants may purchase additional refreshments, including food from a local food truck, at their own expense.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event. Parking is available at Central Waters Brewery. CAP Services will have volunteers available to pick up riders from along the bike routes in case of an emergency.

There is no minimum age to participate in the event. Riders age 12 and younger may register for free as long as they are accompanied on their ride by a registered adult. While this is a family-friendly event, we will not be providing children’s activities so families should plan accordingly. Riders and their family or friends will need to provide ID in order to enjoy adult beverages at Central Waters Brewery.

If you’ll be hanging out while a family member rides or if you just love helping out with events, we have a number of opportunities for you to volunteer! You can review the complete list and sign-up here.
