CAP Services is working in partnership with Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Administration in the implementation of the State’s new Wisconsin Rental Assistance Program (WRAP).

Governor Evers announced this partnership with CAP Services and 15 other community action agencies in Wisconsin May 19. The program will provide eligible applicants up to $1,000 per month for 3 months for rent and/or security deposits.

CAP Services’ role will be to assist families in the application process and provide other referrals for families with other needs. CAP will begin accepting applications for assistance beginning 8 a.m. Thursday, June 4 at capservices.org/wrap.

April 10th, 2020, the IRS unveiled a new link on the IRS.gov website for people who do not normally file tax returns. They can enter bank account information in order to receive the economic stimulus payment.  There is a big blue button on the IRS.gov website called “Non Filers: Enter Payment Info Here.”

Emergency grant applications are closed at this time.

CAP accepted emergency grant applications from April 7 -28 from residents across our five-county service area. At this time, all available funding has been allocated.

Individuals needing assistance due to the COVID-19 crisis are encouraged to call 211 or visit https://211wisconsin.communityos.org/ to explore other available resources.

Individuals wishing to support CAP’s Emergency Grants for eligible households on our waiting list may continue to do so at capservices.org/donate.

During these unprecedented times, CAP Services’ Mental Health Navigation program wants to assure our community that we are remaining “open” to support those in need of mental health care. Family Health La Clinica is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Wautoma, Stevens Point, Beaver Dam and Mauston for urgent and emergency dental services. They are welcoming new patients including those who have a dental provider that has had to close temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities established the COVID-19 Fund to support nonprofit organizations engaging in immediate basic needs relief, short-term response and longer-term recovery. CAP Services’ “Small Loan, Big Difference” program offers low-interest consumer loans in Marquette, Outagamie, Portage, Waupaca, Waushara and Wood counties. Borrowers may be eligible for loans up to $1,000 to make necessary purchases or address emergencies, and up to $5,000 to refinance predatory loans. Financial Education provided in easy to access online segments provides financial assistance to fit your needs. capservices.org/small-loan
