Work site: Family Crisis Center – Stevens Point, WI

Start Date: as soon as possible                             

Starting Pay: $18.23-$19.87 per hour, depending on experience

Status: Part-time, 24.75 hours per week: Three scheduled shifts per week of 8.25 hours each

 

Duties:  This position meets the immediate needs of callers on a 24-hour crisis and information hotline and walk-in visitors presenting for a variety of concerns including mental health, family dysfunction, and abuse.  This role also meets the needs of domestic violence victims and their children as well as youth-in-crisis who are receiving emergency shelter services at the Family Crisis Center.

There are additional responsibilities weekly, such as meetings, on call responses (after 6 months of employment), and client meetings that may increase weekly hours. The Family Crisis Center provides 24/7 Services, and Advocates require flexibility in working Overnight shifts (including some weekends and holidays) with possibility of some PM shift work as well. The staff at the Family Crisis Center collaborate with one another to ensure Shelter needs are met along with personal scheduling needs.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in psychology, social work, human services or related degree and One year of relatable work, leading to a working knowledge of crisis intervention/youth/domestic violence/sexual assault services;
  • OR Associates Degree in related field and three years of work experience, leading to working knowledge of topics described above;
  • OR High School Diploma and 5 years of relatable work, leading to working knowledge of topics described above.
  • Must be able to respond on site within 30 minutes of being contacted during scheduled on call.
