Work site: CAP Services Administration office – 2900 Hoover Rd. Stevens Point

Start Date: as soon as possible                                 

Starting Pay: $18.65-$20.32per hour, depending on experience

Status: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, M-F

Duties:  Obtain, analyze and consolidate required information. Maintain subsidiary books and reconciliations, prepare reports, cost studies, and backup documentation. Major responsibilities include analysis of revenue and expenses, reconciling accounts and preparing reports for management and funding sources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two-year Associate Degree in accounting and at least four years of experience in accounting of which three years are in full cycle nonprofit accounting at a Community Action Agency or a non-profit similar in size and scope to CAP Services;
  • OR One-year technical diploma in accounting and at least five years of experience;
  • OR High school diploma or equivalency and at least six years of progressively more responsible experience. Three years of this experience must be in full cycle nonprofit accounting at a Community Action Agency or a non-profit similar in size and scope to CAP Services.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ledgers, prepare journal entries and reconcile asset and liability accounts.
  • Verify accuracy of profit and loss statements.
  • Integrate and coordinate the assigned duties of the accounting cycle (A/P, A/R, journal
  • entries, payroll, etc.) with other staff resulting in timely and accurate financial reports.
  • Create and organize all documentation necessary for accounting transactions and
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports.
  • Complete program grant reporting and reimbursement claims as assigned.
  • Process billing, including complete backup information, for inter-department and
  • third-party receivables.
  • Other duties as assigned.
