Contact Morgan at mgrassl@capmail.org. \nOur Keynote Speaker is Sue (Soukaseume) Neeley \nSue (she/her) is passionate about serving children\, youth\, and families.  She currently serves as the Director of Family Engagement and Advocacy at GSAFE.  GSAFE is a non-profit based out of Madison\, WI that supports LGBTQ+ youth and families across the state of Wisconsin.  She is a former Assistant Director for programs Pre-K to 5th at another non-profit in Madison\, WI. She is also a former “momtrepreneur” owning her own small program and traveling to schools and centers in Madison and the surrounding area to teach dance\, yoga\, and mindfulness to children and youth.  All of the work Sue has done\, since graduating from Winona State University in 2006\, has been centered around children\, youth\, and families. \n \nSue is a first-generation American. Her parents left Laos and stayed in a refugee camp in Thailand during the Secret War in Laos. They were later able to immigrate to the United States with most of their family. Sue speaks Lao fluently and enjoys cooking and sharing Asian cuisine with her family and friends. She is an Asian-American\, a Wisconsinite\, a queer woman\, a wife\, a mother to 2 beautiful children (one of whom is trans)\, and 2 lovely dogs. When Sue is not working or volunteering\, she enjoys walking in the woods\, dancing\, martial arts\, playing games\, and singing karaoke. \nOur Lived Panel will include:Bobbiejoy Amann – Transgender woman with lived experienceDr. Sandy Neumann – Mother of  her transgender son and community advocateMaggie Rocha – Local therapist who works with LGBTQ+ youth and adultsDoua Yang – Hmong LGBTQ+ with lived experienceSPASH GSA students –  LGBTQ+ youth perspectives \nLooking for artists ages 12-24 who would like to display their art at the Authentic Identity Expo Student Art Show in Stevens Point. \nTHE DETAILS \nWe want to give a platform for LGBTQIA+ artists to showcase their unique perspectives and experiences\, promoting visibility\, raising awareness about LGBTQ issues\, fostering community connections\, and challenging societal norms by presenting diverse narratives often underrepresented in mainstream art spaces. \nArt will be displayed at local businesses\, Stevens Point Pride\, May Mental Health\, September Suicide Prevention and other community events. \nTHE RULES \n• Your artwork may contain multimedia elements \n• Using celebrities\, video game characters\, cartoons\, or other copyrighted images is not allowed \n• A picture of the art piece and a fully completed and legible registration form must be turned in to participate. \n• Art teachers turn in submissions to the front office of their school prior to showcase. In collaboration with community partners\, we will be a holding an educational session with a resource fair\, film screening\, and vaccination clinic in Portage County. Doors open at 9 am. \nMovie Showing 10 am – 11 am: SHOT IN THE ARM explores vaccine hesitancy historically and in the context of our modern pandemic. Can we replace cynicism with healthy curiosity and bridge the political divides that make us sick?  Question and answer to follow.
