CAP Services added new senior administrative staff recently. Pat Alger was named CAP’s new Director of Development, and Chris DeRoo is CAP’s new Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Alger, Kaukauna, is based out of CAP’s Appleton office and is responsible for mobilizing private funds to support CAP programs primarily in the Fox Valley region.

“Pat’s business and marketing background, as well as her volunteer experience with our organization, are huge assets in this position,” said Mary Patoka, CAP’s President and CEO. “Her experience in organizational leadership will also help as she helps advance CAP’s mission throughout our service area.”

Alger’s previous work includes five years as an Associate Lecturer, Academic Advisor/Recruiter/Coordinator for the University of Wisconsin Fox Valley. Other work experience includes many years of marketing and business experience. Alger has a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Quality and bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, both from Marian University.

DeRoo, Junction City, is based in CAP’s Stevens Point administrative office and is responsible for administering and supervising human resource programs within CAP. DeRoo replaces Sherry Michelkamp who retired following a 30-year career with CAP.

“Chris had very large shoes to fill, but she is proving to be up to the task” said Patoka. “We are glad to have her on board and look forward to the expertise she offers.”

DeRoo’s previous work experience includes more than 18 years in human resource at Team Schierl Companies. DeRoo has an associate’s degree in Marketing from Chippewa Valley Technical College.
