Emily Smits, Weston, has been named to CAP Services’ newly created Director of Talent position.
Smits will be based out of CAP’s Stevens Point administrative headquarters and will be responsible for oversight of CAP’s human resources and talent development functions.
“We are excited to add Ms. Smits to our team,” said Mary Patoka, CAP president and CEO. “Her professional experience and dedication to mission-driven work promises to serve our agency well.”
Smit’s previous work includes four years in various human resource roles at Ministry Health Care in Weston and Stevens Point, most recently as a recruitment consultant. Smits has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), and is a Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR) through Advanced Internet Recruitment Strategies (AIRS).
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this impactful and values-driven organization,” said Smits.
The position was created as part of administrative restructuring designed to further CAP’s strategic goals as well as adapt to the retirement of Sue Beveridge, CAP’s former VP and Director of Administration who recently stepped down after 40 years with the agency.
“There is no way to replace 40 years of experience,” said Patoka. “However, we have been active in planning for this transition to ensure our administrative functions remain at the high standards our clients, staff and donors have come to expect.”
